The two hour flight from Xi’an to Shanghai was very comfortable and included a meal. We arrived at the SAI hotel in the early afternoon and had Shanghai style Chinese food for lunch.

In the afternoon we took the bus to Shanghai’s Financial District which is filled with impressive skyscrapers.

We visited the Pearl Tower and got a 360 degree view of the city.  In addition to a 360 degree view of Shanghai, it enables visitors to look through the the floor and observe the ground from 264 meters. The glass walk floor appeared to be the most popular attraction of the Pearl Tower.  Despite the high volume of tourists, the Pearl Tower’s amazing view is a must see attraction of Shanghai.

We spent the evening at the SAI hotel with a tailor, selecting fabrics and designs for custom-made suits, dresses and coats. We had an adventurous first day in Shanghai and we are looking forward to upcoming activities in Shanghai!
