Today was our 4th day in Europe. Everyone was pretty excited because we were heading to a different and modern city – Berlin.  Berlin, the capital of Germany, has a population of around 3.5 million people and is the second most populous city proper in the European Union.  After gathering in the lobby at 8:30 a.m., we all loaded our luggage and departed for Berlin at 9 a.m.

On the way, we found that Germany puts a lot of emphasis on the environment. Green trees are alongside the expressway and we could see many wind power facilities along the road generating electricity. However, some of the wind turbines were not revolving fast enough. After discussing this with the professor, we understood that the facilities were built using subsidies obtained by the government and that’s why the location isn’t perfect for the wind turbines.  This issue led us to reflect deeply.

It was such a long road trip but (to our surprise) we had so much fun on the bus. Although some students were resting and others were reading books or cases, most of the group played Mafia for two or three hours. We laughed so hard. It was really a great chance for us to get to know each other better and grow our friendships.

The whole team arrived in Berlin around 5p.m. and checked in at the IBIS Hotel. After unpacking, we went to Park Café to have dinner together. The restaurant was neat, clean and well-organized. We had lots of delicious food including pizza, pasta, tarte flambés and so on. It was a good time.

After dinner, we separated into several groups and had some free time. Everyone is looking forward to exploring this wonderful city more and we are excited for tomorrow!
