On November 7, the Alberta MBA Career Management Center along with the City of Edmonton hosted a luncheon at the city hall intended to illustrate to MBA candidates the variety career opportunities that exist within the organization. Alberta MBA Alumna, Kate Rozamahel, General Manager, Corporate Services and Margaret Blair, Director of Recruitment welcomed the students. During this event 10 Alberta MBA alumni from across the business shared their experiences and how they have been able to balance their lives, engage in exciting projects, and find ongoing development through the programs that the city offers to its employees.
My favorite part was Kate Rozamahel’s presentation, because she has a wide-ranging experience, and demonstrated that she has been able to find passion in everything she has done. We could feel that energy through her presentation. Similarly, other MBA Alumni described their jobs as impactful, challenging, yet balanced. All these aspects resonated with me as an MBA candidate. As I am defining my career path and priorities, it is great to know that the city is looking for the next leaders and strategist to contribute to the continued development of the community. The City of Edmonton is an employer that is willing to offer the best experience to students.
